How does StepUp work?
StepUP matches students with tutors based on information we receive from answers to our sign-up forms. Students have the option (availability permitting) to be signed up with only one tutor or may be signed up in small groups. Students and tutors meet for one hour each week throughout the year using Zoom, WhatsApp, phone or email. Tutors will help students with either assignments given from the student’s school or may create assignments of their own.
How much does StepUp cost?
Nothing! All our services are completely free. All our tutors are volunteer students. The biggest validation of their volunteerism is seeing their students succeed.
Who is eligible to be a tutor?
Regardless of previous experience, any person with an aptitude and ability to teach Grade 6-12 is eligible to tutor with us. Volunteers will need to complete and clear a basic background check.

Students are matched within 2-3 weeks of filling out the form. If you have not been matched within four weeks or if you have been matched but have not heard from your match, please contact us.
